  • where a university rich in tradition contributes to scientific progress since 500 years
  • where about 20.000 students stimulate everyday’s life
  • where art nouveau buildings and domestic architecture constitute the center
  • a place worth to live and to visit

The city of Halle is a vivid, modern place to be, its center coined by historic buildings of the beginning 20th century. Today’s 230.000 inhabitants spend life, work, and recreation here around the market square with its five towers, the university with its central campus of historic and modern buildings, the banks of the river Saale with their parks and greens and so much more which can be discovered.

Within the central part, distances are not too far, so most routes can be done as footwalk. For longer distances a well developed tram net can be used.

More details on the city, its history, activities and living conditions can be found at

The conference will take place in the Melanchthonianum at the Universitätsplatz in the center of Halle (see map below).
